Building Inclusive Communities: Responding to Children’s Questions About Difference
This session will provide educators with a framework for anti-bias education. Debbie will share strategies and resources to help children think and talk about their ideas and feelings about themselves, the difference and similarities among people, and about fairness and unfairness in people’s interactions with each other.
Debbie Lee Keenan is a lecturer, author, and former director of the Eliot-Pearson Children’s School at Tufts University. She has over 48 years of teaching experiences in schools and higher education. She is a frequent presenter at NAEYC. Her recent book is Leading Anti-Bias Early Childhood Programs: A Guide for Change.
