Our Story

What started as a vision in one classroom has grown into a trusted partner for schools, dedicated to bringing joy and purpose to every child’s learning journey.

Frog Street was born in the classroom founded in 1989 by five passionate kindergarten teachers who wanted better, more joyful learning tools for young children.

Our co-founders, Amy Noble and Sharon Burnett, started by hand-making big books cutting, coloring, and binding materials themselves to support early literacy and language development.

The “Sing & Read” approach became the heart of our early materials, using familiar tunes and bright, engaging visuals to help young children learn through music, movement, and play.

In 1992, we launched our first SPLASH conference, bringing together early childhood educators from around the country for learning, celebration, and inspiration, a tradition that continues today.

From those hand-crafted beginnings, Frog Street has grown into a trusted leader in early childhood education, serving programs across the U.S. and in countries around the world.

We’ve expanded far beyond big books, now offering a full continuum of curriculum from birth to age five, blending research-based instruction with guided play, digital tools, and family engagement.

Our curriculum is built with heart and backed by science, integrating Conscious Discipline® strategies to support the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
