Brain breaks are short breaks between sit-down learning activities that are designed to get young bodies moving and dancing. They can regenerate, refresh, and refocus children. Don Monopoli, Laurie Monopoli, and Jan Hrkach are The Learning Station, a group who has published over 300 songs that encourage kids to be active while learning. Don Monopoli is also an author at Frog Street Press and will be discussing how to use music and songs to teach and improve student learning.
Preview some of The Learning Station’s fun kid’s songs before the conference. “Move and Freeze” is one of our favorites.
Have you ever wondered how to incorporate more music into your day? Stephen Fite, an award-winning musician, will not only help kick off the SPLASH conference with a Melody House performance, he will also be hosting an action-packed session designed to show you ways to add a little song and dance to your everyday classroom routines.
