SESSION TITLE: 8 STRATEGIES FOR PRESCHOOL ELL’S AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT
Early Childhood education can play an essential role in preparing young English language learners (ELL’s) for later success in school. With the right support and opportunities for engagement, children who are given the appropriate experiences to develop basic foundational skills in language and literacy in preschool can enter Kindergarten ready to read and write! If you work with ELL preschool children, this session will provide you with a hands on approach to these 8 suggested strategies based on the research of several national presenters who have dedicated their life in understanding how ELL children can become effective readers and writers. Join Maria as she shares ideas from the work of Dr. Rebecca Palacios and the Frog Street Pre-K resource book from Dr. Blanca Enriquez.
