 Kim was a 2002 Teacher of the Year and has taught kindergarten for over 28 years. Focusing on developing curriculum and strategies that incorporate child-centered activities, she emphasizes the fun of kindergarten by tapping into the curiosity of young children that plants the seed for lifelong learning. Kim was selected as an Expert Teacher and serves as a teacher mentor. She has a Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education as well as an At-Risk endorsement. In this session Kim will share an idea a minute of games, songs, puppets, and activities that will have your children knowing those early skills quickly and seamlessly. She will also share ideas on how to document each child’s progression through these skills to ensure that ALL children are learning…including remediation and enrichment!

Making the Most of Your Math Manipulatives

Do you have math manipulatives like pattern blocks, colored tiles, or unifix cubes in your classroom? Are you trying to think of more ways to use them to teach EVERY math strand? Kim will share ideas for counting, shapes, measurement, addition, subtraction, number combinations, and composing & decomposing numbers. You will be able to dig those manipulatives out of the closet and get busy TOMORROW!
