Cleofas “Cleo” Rodriguez, Jr. is currently the Executive Director of the National Migrant Seasonal Head Start Association in Washington, DC. Cleo is the former Executive Director of Raising Austin and the Texas Head Start Association. He is trained in the Center on Social Emotional Foundations for Early Learning in both the Pre-School and Infants/Toddler Modules. Cleo has also worked closely with the Devereux Early Childhood Initiative’s, including, Devereux Early Childhood Assessment, Challenging Behaviors, Children’s Social Emotional Health and FLIP IT. Additionally, Cleo has served as a national consultant for SpecialQuest Birth-Five which provides cross-systems training on best practices for including children with disabilities and their families into Early Childhood Programs. Most recently Cleo has served on the National Hispanic Education Coalition, the National Farmworker Alliance, is an invited member of the White House Hispanic Roundtable for the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and an invited member of the Arlington County Public School’s Superintendent’s Advisory Board. Cleo is proud to work on behalf of migrant and seasonal farm worker families. Cleo’s parents were both migrant farmers who worked tirelessly in the cotton fields across the state of Texas and other Southern states. Cleo himself did seasonal summer work in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Cleo received a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University. He was recently selected for the prestigious honor of Distinguished Alumni of Texas State University. Cleo is a single father of a daughter who resides in Austin, Texas and a son who is a sophomore at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
