In a PD session I once heard a speaker say “We are not simply teaching young children, but we are teaching future doctors, lawyers, professors, rocket scientists, astronauts, presidents, ……WOW….that changes your perspective!

    • I completely agree. As a parent, this thought process is something I have rallied behind for years. My children are all adopted through foster care. For the longest time, people would feel sorry for them (and admittedly their story is a tough one) but I would tell them that we are raising survivors, not victims. There is a much bigger picture here. The good news is that we can be teachers to young children, let them play, engage their curiosity AND prepare them to take on the world one day! <3 Crystal Radke
